A customer emailed today because the “Start Course” button in the email they received from Sensei resulted in a 404.

It looks like you’ve revamped your email templates system and made them editable in the Gutenberg editor. This is great! Unfortunately it seems to also have introduced this issue though.

Specifically, the “Welcome to Course” email template has a “Start Course” button with the destination URL of [course:url] which I assume is supposed to get swapped out with the real course URL:

However when this email gets sent (via Brevo in my case) the URL in the email has the value https://url%5D instead, which of course is invalid.

The other “placeholders” in the email template seem to get swapped out fine, but [course:url] seems broken.

This seems a Sensei bug? These emails were working fine before your email templates revamp and I haven’t made any configuration/code changes. I’ve also made no changes to your email templates.

    Hi @alecrust,

Thanks for reporting this, and sorry for the trouble!

I tried to replicate this on my end but all seems to be working as expected.
Can you try resetting the welcome email template, creating a test course, and see if by enrolling as a test student the issue persists?

I suspect this could also be a permalink issue happening on your end, so you may also want to head to the permalink settings and reset them.

Let me know how you get on!
