• Hello everyone,

I’m actually stuck with a error message everytime I try to login to my wp-admin. They keep telling me I don’t have the authorization to access this page. Everything started when I tried to restore my Database with a backup on Updraftplus…. During the process, windows would pop of my websites saying, this link doesn’t exist and I could clearly see that my website was broken.

So now, my website is broken, it doesn’t look like it used too and I can’t access my dashboard. I’ve tried everything so far… Repairing my actual database using Cpanel, Creating a new database, erasing my old database, changing the wp-login.php file for a brand new one, deactivating the plugin using the good old trick (changing the name of the folders), I even tried to erase everything in the public.html folder and uploading a brand new version of wordpress. I also tried using the Softaculous as well…..

I’m desperate … I’ve been working on this website for the past 3 months for about 50 hours a week…. and the end result is crucial to the success of my internship… So, if anyone has any idea of what’s happening please help me…

I’m using the 2 authentification factor from Defender plugin (WPMU) and I had a redirect to another link to login for security reason. the login link was: https://plomberievalleyfield.com/a-votre-service-depuis-1999.

    Thanks for your time,

    Cordially,

    Pierrick

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • If it was me I’d kill the Astra theme and rename the whole plugins directory to get away from that 2-factor auth and anything else trying to confuse my login from stock. I just add 1234 to the directory name I intend to kill. Sounds like you know that trick already

Drop a ‘Twenty’ series theme in your themes directory. I like Twenty Thirteen but Twenty Nineteen is usually there already unless someone deleted it.

    Login if you can. Else…

Always be very careful with that database… That’s 90% or more of your WordPress install and it can be tricky. If you break it and your backups are broken then you have a lot of work to recover things.

Once you get in, add that rename to each plugin then rename the plugins directory itself back. This will kill your plugins individually then let you rename them back one at a time until you find the problem child.

If you can’t remember why you have a plugin then don’t bother with it until you do know.

You can have a little too much security, too. And I hate Two-factor because the phone is either dead, lost, or broken when you need access the most.

Let us know how you get along.
