Thank you so much for your honest feedback and I will surely share your thoughts with the developers as well.
I understand your concerns about the HTTPS, but we never received any such issue reported by anyone else before you. In that case, have you tested for any conflicts with the proper steps as explained below along with the basic troubleshooting?
I can see, you have mentioned that you already tried by deactivating all plugins. Please see the instructions below for how to do this and take a look once again for your reference, check if you have missed anything in the process:

You can do such experiments on your staging site first and then can check the results to make sure before doing anything on your live site.
