Broken Portfolio Links

    Hi there, i have two different websites, who have very often afters updates a broken permalink structur. So i have to recreate the permalink structur. But the broken link checker doenst recognize these portfolio pages.
    For Example: there is an page with links to portfolio pages, that doesnt exist. so my browser displays a 404 error. But the BLC doenst recognize this.

    I hope you’re well today!

    Broken Link Checker checks links periodically (it’s not continuous check all the time – unless it’s enabled in “Advanced” settings and you keep the dashboard open in browser) so there’s always a chance that it will only hit the given link after you already fixed permalink structure.

    But that’s one of possible things only. I’m not sure how these links are added to site also and this might be meaningful. Would you mind sharing a link to the example page on which there’s a ling to such broken portfolio page?

    Are you sure also that relevant options (such as e.g. “blocks” or “acf fields”, depending on how the site is built) are enabled in “Look For Links In” settings of the plugin?

    Hi Adam, i have set the interval to 24 hours. The problem appears an saturday and we have fixed it on monday. So there was enough time to find the broken link.

    I have checked the following link categorys:

    posts
    comments
    portfolio
    pages

    The broken links are on a page – linked to portfolio pages.

    Yes, but at this time, there is no broken link, cause i have to fix it very fast.

    Do these links show up on the plugin’s link page ( Settings -> Broken Links )?
    If they don’t it means that the plugin is unable to render the links. I must warn you that currently the plugin is not able to handle the links generated by shortcodes/widgets/page-builder blocks but we are looking to add that feature on the future updates.

    Could you share more details on how you’ve added the links on the page if my speculation is incorrect?

    – No

    shortcodes/widgets/page-builder blocks but we are looking to add that feature on the future updates.

    – It is created with WP Bakery Page Builder – Grid – Portfolio
    – Links also created with the WP Bakery Page Builder but in a Text Box, are working for monitoring

    I’m afraid the Broken Link Checker is not detecting links from pages that are built with the WP Bakery Page Builder. This is a known issue and our developers are working on a fix.
