• After a update to 3.3.1 my permalinks aint working nomore. The page/post-links are no problem but the links to the category’s are a problem. My settings are just /%postname%/ that means for a category the output url/category/categoryname. These url’s ends up with a 404.

Anybody suggestions? Have bin searching on google and the internet but I didn’t come up with something for categorys.

Searching on the internet, I read some posts about problems with wp3.1, but it did look a bit similar. So I have tried to regenerate the htaccess-file and switched off and on permalinks. This didn’t help a thing…

Try resetting your custom permalinks back to the default setting via Settings -> Permalinks. If this works, then review Using_Permalinks before setting a custom permalink structure back up again.

With the default settings it works. But when I change the permalinks to another option regardless witchone, then the category’s aint working anymore.

Check that your Category base input is empty & doesn’t hold 1 or more blank spaces.

So I’ve did, I think it was empty, but backspaced it anyway. No result.

Have you tried deleting your .htaccess file and allowing WordPress to set it back up again?

Yes I’ve tried it earlier. I’ve renamed the .htaccess file and changed the permalinks and changed it back. With savings off course.

I think you need to have a word with your hosts. Perhaps there’s an issue with mod_rewrite on their server.

Ok, I will ask them. Thanks for helping. I will post their answer.

Well, I’ve got an answer from the hosts, but this doesn’t solve a thing. They are saying that there isn’t a problem on that specific server.
When I backup the site and re-install wordpress, would that solve the problem or is this to much…

Just updated to 3.3.2 in the hope that this would solve my problem. Damn, no luck, as I expected.

Does anyone have a clue? I’n getting desperate…
