Broken looks in Internet Explorer

I use a template for my newly created blog. I have made some modifications in it. The website looks good on Firefox/Chrome but looks broken on IE. I went through w3 schools validation, there were warnings and some errors. Errors were that the website was using same name as div id and div class. Is this causing the issue?
