I’m using the nextgen gallery plugin for years without any problem. But now, when
I create a new gallery, upload pictures, I can’t see them in “gallery > manage galleries”, only icons for broken links show up. The uploaded images and thumbnails are stored in the folder “wp-content/gallery”, as usual.

I made a copy of the site with duplicator, reinstalled the copy on the same server, then the images and thumbnails were back. But if I create a new gallery and upload pictures, the problem described before comes up again: broken links.

I am using genesis framwork with minimal pro theme. I tried also twenty nineteen, same as minimal pro.

For testing I copied the site-copy to another server. There everything works, the older galleries have thumbnails and pictures, new galleries too, everything is as it should be.

The problem obviously only exists on one server (OLM cloud hosting). There is enough space, php 7.3 is active, wordpress and nextgen-gallery-plugin are the newest versions (3.2.19 and 5.2.4).

    What could that be?

Thanks for the Server’s details. These are looking fine so far from what I see.
Sometimes, uploading high quality and resolution images may be challenging since it implies creating new images ( at least 2 other images for each originally uploaded one )

To start debugging, please upload any of your images that are failing be correctly uploaded to NextGen to WordPress Media and take a look if WP Media will create a thumbnail for that image.

Please let us know about your results

Yes, wp-media creates a thumbnail, nextgen-gallery too, btw

Sorry but you’ve initilaly mentioned that there was a problem with new uploaded gallery thumbnails:

I create a new gallery, upload pictures, I can’t see them in “gallery > manage galleries”, only icons for broken links show up. The uploaded images and thumbnails are stored in the folder “wp-content/gallery”, as usual.

Can you verify to ensure that the gallery path is correctly specified in “Gallery -> Other Options -> Image Options”? It should be set to “wp-content/galleries” by default

    Thread Starter pix33

    (@pix33)

    hello mihai

for me the path is: wp-content/gallery in image options

On the server I see (ftp) in “wp-content/gallery/test-new” that the images and the thumbs have been generated

there are dozens of older galleries there with the same settings, all running perfectly.
(what happens, if I change gallery to galleries on the server and in the options? Does this corrupt all older galleries?)

is there a way to send screenshots?

strange is: on my own server an exact copy of the site runs without problems. I can create new galleries, thumbs everything is ok

Side note to @pix33 I get that people need to use online translators sometimes but please do not post the “Translated with <link>” here.

That’s considered link spam and will be removed when found. If that is a condition of using that translator then please use a different one that doesn’t spam that way.

NOTE: I am not accusing you of any ill will or bad behavior. But please do not post that link anymore here.

    Hi,

Have you tried deleting and reinstalling nextgen gallery on the site that is not working properly? Refreshing your install might fix the issue.

    Please keep me posted.

    Hi
I deleted and reinstalled the plugin – same story. Images are there, thumbnails have been created, Gallery Manager shows broken links. Older galleries work fine
