• Hello,

I have been trying to fix some broken links on imagea on a couple of my pages including this one (REQUEST A QUOTE image) https://protech-solutions.co.uk/news/ and it is just hanging. I have run updates and it is still not loading. Can you explain how I can fix it please?

    Many thanks,
    Suzanne

  • It looks like requests to Google Analytics are hanging. If you are using a Google Analytics plugin, make sure it is up to date. If it is, deactivate it and then see if your site displays correctly.

Thank you. I have just deactivated the Google Analytics plugin but the issue with the hanging links is still happening.

I cleared my cache and still see your site requesting https://www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js I believe that plugin may still be activated.

When you say “hanging links”, are you referring to what happens when you click “Request a quote”? If so, Firebug shows this:

    SyntaxError: expected expression, got '>'
    ...</g,'<').replace(></m>/g,'>');l[i].href='mailto:'+t.value}}catch(e){}}}ca

Yes. I tried opening it on internet explorer and the link to Request a Quote works on that browser but still doesn’t work on the Chrome broswer. Also, the ORDER NOW link on this page https://protech-solutions.co.uk/special-offers/ is still not working. It just shows a rolling strip.

I am not clued up on code so don’t know how to deal with the Firebug syntax error.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi there,

Do you know why some of the links are working properly in Chrome and not internet explorer?

    Thanks

Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the default theme for your version of WordPress to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

Thank you. I will give that a try.
