Hello @afruae ,
I’m sorry about those issues and delay on our end.
1. I set up your great plugin and I see it does not check all links
Can you elaborate more on this? Do you mean that you have broken links on your site but the plugin is not reporting them?
Hostgator delete your plugin automatically and they said my maybe you have another version of your plugin.
Did they give a reason why it was deleted? We don’t have at the moment new version (but our team is working on one), so I would need to know what problem the hosting provider with it, so we can address it.
kind regards,
KasiaDear Kasia,
Thank you for your reply. Please see answers below.

I have hundreds or maybe thousands links on thousands pages but your plugin does not show all links now. Its mean does not work. Or Maybe hosting block it. Its Cloud Sites Plan.

Hello @afruae
I have hundreds or maybe thousands links on thousands pages but your plugin does not show all links now. Its mean does not work. Or Maybe hosting block it. Its Cloud Sites Plan.
It’s actually very likely that hosting removed the plugin before it was even able to go through all the links. “Thousands of links on thousands pages” sounds like a lot and it might take time for the plugin to discover them all and check them all. There’s also a chance that there would have to be some adjustments made to default plugin configuration to make sure that no links are skipped and that depends on how the site is built and where/how these links are added.
I’d need to know more about these specific links – some examples of links that were not checked along with information how they are added to site (e.g. in post, injected by some script or added manually, or added e.g. via some custom fields and so on).
However, if host is not allowing the plugin there’s not much we can check about the links. I understand that it’s managed hosting and it’s quite common that hosts apply some allowed/disallowed plugins policies so the plugin would have to be allowed first.
Did they give a reason why it was deleted? I receive automatic email from Hostgator
It’s a shame that Hostgator didn’t give any specific reason for removing/disallowing the plugin but in most cases if host bans some plugin it’s because it’s either “overlapping” with one of “core” features provided by/built-in into hosting (this is often a case with various caching plugins) and/or they consider it too “resource hungry” (so they assume it might affect performance).
There might be other reasons too but we’re not aware of that. We didn’t have it reported yet and nobody from Hostgator contacted us about that too.
That being said, I’ve reported the case to our developers already. We’ll attempt to get more information from Hostgator on which plans do they “ban” the plugin and why and what could we do to get it accepted and allowed by them. Please note though that since we’re not in any way related to or affiliated with Hostgator, I’d rather not make any promises at the moment and I can’t estimate any dates as we don’t know yet what is the reason for this and what will we have to do/change to get the plugin accepted. Even then, it’s still up to host if and when they will allow it.
I can promise, however, that we’ll do what’s in our powers to make it allowed there.
Best regards,
AdamHello Adam,
Thank you very much for your reply. Please see examples of link:

https://africabusiness.com/2014/08/20/africa-exhibition-on-kitchen-bathroom/
https://africabusiness.com/2014/08/20/chris-ford/
I added these links using the Worpress Dashboard menu for the post (by my hands not automatically) or inserted ready articles with active links from Microsoft Word.
But I just saw – I updated these old posts above now then your plugin shows me these links and broken links in these posts.
I see that your plugin detected now:
No URLs in the work queue.
Detected 88 unique URLs in 123 links. But the first time your plugin detected 1000+ links and it was very excellent for me. It’s the right version.
But your plugin works very very very slowly now and detect links in updated posts only.
Please help to detect all links. Thank you very much!
Hi @afruae
Thanks for response!
So it seems it is actually working but slowly. This might be a case with a lot of links, I’m afraid and it will also depend on two important factors:
– server performance (actually – resource limits, e.g. hosting may be limiting request rate in some ways or db queries rate)
– and target URLs response time (that would mostly apply in this case to 3rd-party URLs, pointing to external sites).
However, you might experiment with some settings of the plugin:
1) on “Settings -> Link Checker -> General” page you can try changing “Check each link” option value – this is how “fast” plugin will “cycle through” already discovered links (not new ones); increasing that value will make it re-check already tested links less frequently and that might “free up” some resources for new links discovery
2) on “Settings -> Link Checker -> Advanced” page make sure to have both options (“run continuously…” and “run hourly…”) enabled for “Link monitor” setting
3) on that very same page you might try increasing “Max execution time”, “Server load limit” and “Target resource usage” options’ values as it might give plugin more “power” ot work but please be careful with this as it might as well cause too much load on server – best values would have to be find “experimentally” I’m afraid.
Our developers are also working on improving plugin performance so future version should get better and better over time if it comes to speed.
Kind regards,
AdamHi Adam,
Your plugin does not work. Your plugin check pages which I updated only. Your plugin does not see all pages.
Thanks and Best regards,

Hello @afruae
I’m really sorry that you’re experiencing such issues!
I’m afraid, though, that this behavior means that there’s something specific to either your site itself or the server it’s on that’s causing it.
Especially this is very strange: “plugin check pages which I updated only”. I understand that these posts – that plugin “do not check” – are published, right? Or do they have different statuses (like “Draft” or “Scheduled”)? If so, are these statuses enabled on “Settings -> Link Checker -> Look for links in”?
Also, have you tried just this: clear (and possibly disable temporarily, if it’s doable/allowed) all caches on site and server and then “force re-check all links” via “Settings -> Link Checker -> Advanced” options?
Kind regards,
AdamHi Adam,
Published pages only. I cleared all caches and I see all links now. I will see how it will work after. Thank you very much.
Best regards,
VadHi Adam,
How can I change number of links per page for bulk edit? I see 30 links on page only. I need 200-1000 links per page. Thank you very much.
Best regards,
VadHi @afruae
You can change the number of links via “Screen Options”:
– go to “Tools -> Broken Links” page (where you see the list of links)
– in the top-right corner of the screen click on “Screen Options” tab
– it will expand screen options setting
– and you can change the number of links there in “Show on screen” setting (just change the default 30 number and click “Apply”).Best regards,
Adam -
