Broken Images when uploaded

Hi,

I’ve had problems uploading images to my site cdavies.me. I’ve only had the site for about a week and had this problem since installing the theme. When I upload an image, the thumbnail displays a broken icon. And when I use the images, they do not work. I originally contacted my host provider about this. They said it was an issue with the them however they found some broken code and replaced it. This worked fine for a few days then stopped working. Here was their reply:

” The error was caused by the coding of the WordPress theme that you are currently using.
We normally do not offer coding support for our hosting clients, however one of my colleagues was able to identify the issue and correct it.
As a result, the images are now displaying correctly and you should have no further issues with this.
For future reference, we have replaced the code line that was referenced in the error with the following text:
echo is_wp_error( $cat_parents = get_category_parents($cat, TRUE, '' . $delimiter . '') ) ? '' : $cat_parents; “

I have no idea about coding but I managed to find this code in the ‘Editor’ and it is a written above. Any ideas? Im completely lost.
