    Hi,

I have been searching, reading, and testing for hours and I am finally relenting and posting a thread. There are many of these types of posts so I was trying to check those out first.

I was having a comment issue (showing 404 on submit). The developer for the theme I was using went in to fix it. In doing so, he said it needed to be moved from the directory install to the root.

It fixed the comment issue, but now all of my images are broken and they don’t show up in the media library unless you get to the edit screen.

The images in posts (along with header, etc) show in the source code to be pointing to the file because when I go to that file directly in the cpanel and it’s there.

Any ideas? The site is https://www.justplayinghouse.com It’s an addon domain. So if you try going directly to one of the images you see broken, it will redirects you to the overall main site. Though, I don’t remember it doing that previously.

    Thanks for any assistance.

One more piece of information. When the developer moved the install from the sub-directory to the root, the table prefix in the wp-config changed to my staging site.

During that time, it must have been working properly in terms of pics on the front-end (can’t speak to media library).

I don’t know if changing the table prefix to the live site was the causing factor as I didn’t think to check it at that point. I was just trying to make the staging site not the live site.

Well, the stupid move that I made next was to delete the staging site because I wanted to recreate it fresh. So I can’t test putting it back in the wp-config to see if that change made the difference.

Going on the assumption it did, then why? This staging site would have been made shortly before the move to the root, so it would have been identical to the main site.
