Broken Feed links in WP Head–change code did not work
-
I am using WordPress version: 3.5.1 and version 4.4.6 Suffusion theme.
I used the code that others said to use to try and get rid of the both the
<link rel=”alternate” type=”application/rss+xml” title=”(Site Name) Feed” href=”(mysite url)/feed/” />
I was able to remove the comments feed, but another check with the link checker still found
this other link with just the feed:
<link rel=”alternate” type=”application/rss+xml” title=”(Site Name) Feed” href=”(mysite url)/feed/” />I tried another code and when I went to update it, I got this error code:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘)’ in /home/catvqyei/public_html/wp-content/themes/suffusion/functions.php on line 295I hit the back button and removed all of the code that I put in, even the one that fixed the first problem, went to update it,
and still got the same error. I did not remove anything else.Now I cannot even log in. Why does WordPress have these links in there when not everyone wants to have an RSS feed. Others have had problems with these links but WordPress still puts them in. Why don’t we have an option. Now I have to start all over again.
Even if I do, the broken links will still be a problem.
