I see you have mod_pagespeed active, which does it’s own optimization which I have seen conflicting with AO CCSS before, can you try deactiving mod_pagespeed?

can you explain to me what kind of conflict it is? I cannot disable Mod_pagespeed as it is essential to speed up the site as prescribed by Google. Can you give me some additional information on some alternative solution on how to handle this issue?

The problem is both AO and mod_pagespeed try to speed up the site and so optimize CSS (and more) and I have seen mod_pagespeed removing CSS that AO adds. Can’t be 100% sure though, would need to see the site broken for that. If you have a staging site we might break stuff there so we can confirm (or rule out) that this indeed is what’s happening?

thanks for the answer but unfortunately I don’t have a staging site and even if it were I can’t disable mod_pagespeed to do tests … then I’ll have to take this incompatibility into account and disable the plugin …

too bad, but indeed if mod_pagespeed cannot be disabled (or reconfigured to leave CSS alone) then the only option is to disable AO CCSS.

thanks for the answer, if there is the possibility to disable only the management of the css then I can ask my developer to disable that function and see how it works! can you confirm that this possibility exists and which parameter must be deactivated exactly?

Don’t know mod_pagespeed well enough, but Google led me to https://www.modpagespeed.com/doc/config_filters and based on the list features in the core set you could try disabling combine_css, flatten_css_imports, inline_css, rewrite_css. The exact way how to depends on what webserver you’re using, but is described in the doc ??
