• Hi,

Every time I click on an archive link in the sidebar i.e. September 2004, I get taken to a page displaying this message, “Error 404 – Not Found” even though there are posts in that archive. A similar problem occurs with the calendar.

Any ideas how I can fix this issue? It’s important for me to have the archives working. The calendar isn’t so important for my blog.

I’ve been tinkering around in the Admin CP and I found that the permalink structure was causing the problem. So I reset the custom set-up to default to

    /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/

However, my custom set-up was a rearranged version:

    /%day%/%monthnum%/%year%/%postname%/

which prevented the archives and the calender from working properly. I don’t understand why.

Can anyone shed some light on this please?

I don’t know if your problem was caused by the same thing mine was. During the upgrade to 2.3.2, the Blogger Title Fix plugin quit working and effectively hid my archives that had been imported from blogger. Soon as it was deactivated, they showed up again. You can check out the ones where the transfer took place by clicking on 09/2006 at Awesome to be Rawsome. I’m manually fixing my post titles prior to 09/25/2006. My son-in-law says a script could be written to fix them but I don’t write code.

Well, it is a bit late, but I have fixed some bugs in the blogger-title-fix plugin and made it work correctly in WordPress 2.5. I haven’t tested it with older versions, but the changes should still work.

I had the exact same problem, posts were all there and could use the “Entries” link at bottom of page to scroll to the posts, but links on Calendar and Archives wouldn’t work. I had a custom permalinks setup also. Reset Permalinks to default settings and the problem is fixed. I am using NO plugins and am using the WordPreess Default theme with only a couple of custom settings.

Not a big deal for me at this time, but it was a bit disconcerting.
