    Hi all,

I’m having an issue where I’m not able to edit or even manage my menus page.

I’ve deactivated all plugins and it’s still happening.

After doing a bit of digging I found the following error:

Uncaught ReferenceError: columns is not defined

    nav-menu.min.js?ver=4.1.1:1

The only thing I’ve been able to dig up is that it’s an issue with Jetpack (which I briefly installed – hated it and removed it). That’s the only thing Google turns up for that specific error that seems to be pertinent to my situation.

Does anyone have any insight into how to fix this issue?

    Cheers,

    Ron

Nuked ALL references to Jepack in my database.

    Now error is:

Uncaught ReferenceError: columns is not defined

    Line in question:

    var wpNavMenu;!function(a){var b;b=wpNavMenu={options:{menuItemDepthPerLevel:30,globalMaxDepth:11},menuList:void 0,targetList:void 0,menusChanged:!1,isRTL:!("undefined"==typeof isRtl||!isRtl),negateIfRTL:"undefined"!=typeof isRtl&&isRtl?-1:1,init:function(){b.menuList=a("#menu-to-edit"),b.targetList=b.menuList,this.jQueryExtensions(),this.attachMenuEditListeners(),this.setupInputWithDefaultTitle(),this.attachQuickS

[moderated – excessively long error log and not enclosed in code buttons]

Clearly a jquery issue. At this point I’m lost.

    Anyone?

    Thanks,

    Ron

Try downloading a new copy of WP to your local computer and using FTP or Cpanel, replace the wp-admin and wp-includes folders. Be sure to delete the old versions first, before uploading the new ones.

Just tried that. Thanks for the idea.

No dice. It changed nothing. ??

    Any other thoughts?

So is the site working at this point other than the menus?

Have you tried renaming the plugins folder (to be sure they are all deactivated) and switching to a default theme?

    What’s the site URL?

    (@rseigel)

Correct – all is working fine except for the admin menu page.

    Site is ottawahvacguy.com.

I didn’t try renaming the plugins folder. I did deactivate everything and switched to default theme though.

This worked perfectly last night and I haven’t added any plugins since. I doubt it’s a plugin issue (although clearly I could be wrong)…

I’ve been in a similar fix for a week. The front end of the site works fine, it’s admin that’s wonky. No text in page edit and editor doesn’t load, won’t list all 85 of my page (just a 10-14). No side bars in the widget area (they show up fine on the front end). I need to make changes to the site and I don’t have a clue what to do. Help, please.

@treetop – please start your own thread as per the forum guidelines – you can do so here:

Right now your site seems to have many plugins and Divi theme (which, BTW, I’ve seen quite a few problems with on these forums). But if you didn’t change anything, I’d start wondering if it might be something server related.

Still renaming the plugins folder and switching to a default theme would be my first troubleshooting steps to try.

I’m not understanding how a theme could affect something in the admin?!?!

I’ll rename and switch right now to see what happens.

    Thanks….

    Ok…..tried that. No change.

Also, I only have 12 plugins.

If WP can’t handle that much then I seriously need to rethink why I’m using WP in the first place (besides the small fortune I’ve invested in it and the massive Adwords campaign I’m currently running of course). ??

What shows up on the tab for Manage Locations under your Menus screen?

    (@rseigel)

    Manage Locations is fine.

Just deleted that last post… that doesn’t work here.
