• I’m using the Mystique theme, which comes with a custom login widget. I wanted to make some aesthetic changes to the widget, so I had a friend tweak the php code. I uploaded his new version and the site promptly broke.

No worries, thought I–I just deleted his old version and uploaded the original version of the php file that I backed up. The site worked again, but with one significant error: normal users could not log in.

As admin, I could log in using the widget no problem. But anyone who was not an admin could not log in. The widget would just hang at “Checking” and would never log them in.

My question is, how can there still be an error when I restored the original php file? I thought that should fix it. Also, is there any way to solve this issue short of reinstalling the theme? For obvious reasons, it’s important that my users be able to log in.

    Can anyone help?

Never mind, I found out that it’s a compatibility issue between my theme and wordpress 3.3. Guess I’ll just have to wait for an update to my theme. Thanks all!
