• We had been using this plugin for a few years.

After the latest update, it broke our site layout on the sites we updated on. When we deactivated it, it wiped out our site entirely. We had to reinstall from a backup and I had to pay our programmer 3 hrs work to remove it manually and fix our database from where w3 cache had corrupted it. In all this plugin has cost me about $200.
This almost cost us two big clients as well. We have since removed the plugin from ALL of our sites. Lesson learned I guess.

Just sharing our bad experience to help others. This is all factual so it is what it is.

    Regards

That’s a harsh lesson. Have you considered posting a support topic in that sub-forum? It may help identify what happened and help others avoid a similar situation.

Thought this plugin may work for many, there is a very large number of ppl who have had bad experiences and some a very bad experience, myself included and I would recommend that anyone really wanting to make use of this plugin should test it thoroughly first preferrably on different domain that has an identical copy of their site. For a brief while I also noticed the improvements. But sadly, that was short lived approx 3days before all hell broke loose. – Lets face it – there is no real support – there is no central point where one can refer back to for any real documentation about the plugin – very poor that and there is NO way in a million years of Sundays, I would pay W3 Total Cache for support. Sad but true unfortunately.

I have solved my issue – cease using this plugin.

There are better and more simple plugins. Like there is one that converts pages to html for faster loading, etc.. WTC messes with the wp install too much.

Plus throw in a cdn and you should be able to speed up your site without a complicated and bloated plugin like WTC. This plugin is very risky and i would not recommend it to anyone.
