Thanks for reaching out @nombeah. If you’re site is encountering problems and is timing out, it’s possible that you’re facing a host related issue. If you feel this occurs as a result of Site Kit you can uninstall or deactive the plugin manually via your hosting file manager or FTP.

In order to do so you can delete or rename the Site Kit directory (wp-content/plugins/google-site-kit). Let me know how you get on after performing this action.

If you’d like to share your Site Health information I can also see if I can determine anything unusual which may be impacting Site Kit setup.

    Hi James,

Thank you for replying! So I did delete the site kit directory under the plugin section and it didn’t do anything.

I would share site health information but I am not able to view it or get into the backend of my website.

Appreciate the follow up. Based on your additional information, what I suspect happened was something else at host level or with your site has impacted your site rendering, given Site Kit is now disconnected. While this may not be related to the plugin, can you share your site URL here and I can see if I spot anything unusual?

It may be worth also checking this with your hosting provider.

    My website URL is: https://nombeah.com

Thank you, I will check it out with my provider!

Thanks for sharing. It would indeed be worth checking this with your provider. The request times out when I try to ping your site. Hopefully they will be able to provide further insights.

Just had similar issue. Not actually used my website for weeks, so can presume an auto update for some reason causes Site Kit to vanish from the website altogether.. It didnt simply break, its gone from files..

Sorry to hear that @obbzy. If you’d like to open a support topic we’d be happy to assist you with this.

Note that if the plugin was removed from your filesystem for your site, it may be difficult to determine the cause, however, with a little effort you can set up the plugin once more, connecting it to the same Google Analytics property.
