I installed this plugin and it seems to clash with the ‘SSH SFTP Updater Support’ plugin from Terrafrost. After installing the ‘Stop User Enumeration’ plugin I was then getting the ‘Updater Support’ form at the top of every page on the website whether I was logged into the site or not logged into the site. The site had been working happily for many months before this.

I tried deactivating and then removing the ‘Stop User Enumeration’ plugin but it was still displaying the ‘Updater Support’ form on every page. The only way I could recover my site back to a usable state was by restoring a backup of the database, to take the site back to before I installed the ‘Stop User Enumeration’ plugin.

Sorry you seemed to experience a clash between SSH SFTP Updater Support plugin from Terrafrost and Stop User Enumeration.

I have no idea why that might have happened, Stop User Enumeration is pretty light weight and has no idea about ‘Updater Support’.

Stop User Enumeration does not change your website in anyway, so once deactivated it cannot create a further issue as it simply is not executed in anyway. So the fact that the form continued to appear would conclude that your diagnostics that there was a clash is invalid.

However I will install SSH SFTP Updater Support plugin from Terrafrost on a test system and investigate.

Have you raised your issue on SSH SFTP Updater Support plugin from Terrafrost support?

Hi I have extensively investigated and conclude there is no conflict and your initial conclusion was in correct.

    I have
    1) Installed both plugins and noted no strange behaviour

    2) Inspected the code of SSH SFTP Updater and discovered
    a) there is only one form, the one asking for SSH credentials
    b) that form is requested on the WP Core hook request_filesystem_credentials and this hook is not touched in anyway by Stop User Enumeration

I can only therefore conclude your issue was cause either by a miss-configuration of SSH SFTP Updater or some other plugin or server issue.

In any case, thank you for bringing to my attention your issue and I am sorry that I am unable to shed any further light on it.
