• All this plugin was supposed to do was move my unused images to the trash in my media library, which it did. But it also moved ALL the images I was using on the mobile version of the site to the trash.

Even though I was able to recover the images from the trash, it was not possible to get the images to update back on the site. Even deleting the old Divi modules and creating new ones would not update. After about an hour on support chat with Hostgator they said I would have to reinstall WP or reinstall from a backup to resolve the issue.

Now the developer is saying “You can try to prove me wrong, but that will take you a few hundred years” and “not preparing a backup is a huge mistake” (I have backups) and “Maybe you didn’t really check any warnings.” Not exactly the best attitude when your plugin just broke the back of someone’s site just moving a few images to the trash.

I am sorry to say, but that is what happens when you don’t read the warnings. If you had, there would have been no problems. Two things to note:

    1. Things went wrong; you were supposed to have a backup. Then immediately restore. And then, talk with me, so that I can look for the issues and provide a fix for you. I would gladly have done it. And you would have been a really happy user, like many others. I am more than happy to help, and I always do. Ask or look around. I am here to help.

    2. It’s mentioned in the Cleaner Dashboard that DIVI (if detected) only works with the Pro Version. As well as the warning about backups, you completely ignored that one too.

Well, I tried to be nice and as helpful as possible, while I couldn’t at all understand your issue. And the best way to help you what exactly what I told you. Maybe I should have blamed my plugin and myself instead, just to make you feel better, but really, that wouldn’t have been the best move towards you neither.

I am truly sorry for you. But saying that doesn’t help anyone.

Yes, to prove me wrong you would need hundreds of years. Same for me, it would take me at least this amount of time. Simply because it’s not possible. It would require to test every plugins out there, every combinaisons, every code snippets.

You make it sound like it’s easy to make this plugin, but it isn’t. It’s too easy to say that and look down at someone’s hard work.

My plugin didn’t break you website, neither WordPress, Divi, or the keys of your keyboard; you did. Even without the warnings, you should have made a backup, and restore immediately, as soon as there was an issue. Again, I am sorry for what happened to you; but you should really be more careful.

Also, when someone is trying to help you, throwing your frustation at that person doesn’t help. And by giving a bad review, it will be hard for me to help you in the future, or maybe at other developers looking at this. I should have maybe not replied to you at all, but I did really wanted to give you pointers.
