• I installed the free version to see how it works, then moved the images that were already in the Uploads folder into sub-folders. I found it very slow. The original files still showed in the WP Media Library, despite me having “moved” them to the sub-folders. I couldn’t figure out how to insert images into pages and posts (the plugin FAQ implies this is possible somehow without pro but I couldn’t figure it out). So, I uninstalled the plugins and deleted the folders (using FTP). But now none of my images will display. The original files are still showing in the top Uploads folder (viewing through FTP) but the WP Media Library only sees ghost files. It shows greyed out boxes instead of the images, and no images are displaying on the site. Seriously not impressed!

Someone recently reported a similar problem and we soon found out their site was using an out of date version of PHP. Thus we understood that such occurrences are not caused by a coding issue. There can be server configuration issues. Not all web servers are alike. But we do offer free technical support when such problems arise. Our 6000+ users know they are not alone when issues come up. Any one who is experiencing similar difficulties should post their issue on the Media Library Folders support forum and we will be respond promptly.

If you have a backup of your files and database, you can restore you site using that.

Thanks for your reply, Alan, but I’m not sure that explains it. My PHP version is 7.0.30. The server I’m on is a standard-configured Apache using cPanel. I have had no other issues with software or plugins on my account.

Yes, I do have a backup so I guess not all is lost, but I had done a fair bit of work since I took the last one which will have to be redone. This is a development site and is changing daily.

Of course we do not know what the particular issue is with your site, but many users are not aware the configuration issues could be the source of the problem. Thus we urge individuals who are experiencing an issue with the plugin to contact us rather so we can sort things out and make the plugin better.

It you would like to have us look at your site with MLF installed, we can discover what is causing the issue.

Thank you, I appreciate your help. What do you need from my end? A user account? How to I get the information to you privately?
