  • This is due to some massive changes in the ACF 4.0 codebase. The functions and methods previously used to create and register fields are now gone. It’s possible to update the plugin and it shouldn’t be too hard. I’m looking into it at the moment and I will get back to you with results when there are any.

I’ve also contacted the plugin authors but haven’t got any official statement from them.

Would be great if you have a solution to this. Keep me posted!

Jonathan, it seems to me that the custom field code is the one which needs updating:

Ricardo, thats exactly what I meant with massive changes to the codebase. I’ve updated the field and have a working version for ACF4. I’m about to hand the code over to the plugin authors so that they can update the plugin and make it work properly.

Hi Jonathan, is it possible to mail the code? Because we don’t know when the author is going to update.

Right now the field is missing its localization and is currently not in the form of a plugin. I can clean up the code and try to implement it using the standards from the previous plugin. I would like to release it publicly, but send me an email and we can discuss it for the time being.

Keep in mind that when the real plugin updates you should use that one instead.

I see. So I guess the new ACF API isn’t working as expected, otherwise updating the custom type code should be enough to make it work (according to that tutorial, at least).

Anyway, it would be nice to have backward compatibility, I just wrote a post in ACF’s forum asking if it was possible.

    Thanks for the quick response!

I’ve been trying to find some fast ways to contact the maintainer of the plugin and it seems like he’s updated the plugin. His version also includes backwards compatibility.

That being said, I won’t release mine since his is more functional.

    Best regards,
    Jonathan

Just tried it, worked like a charm. Thanks for your assistance!

Thanks for the link, Jonathan! I hope they update the Add-ons page soon. Would be super appreciated. Cheers!
