• Ever since this plugin was rebranded from “Better WP Security” to “iThemes Security” there have been many annoying windows and announcements that weren’t there before and the stability and reliability of the plugin have diminished. As of the latest update today (v4.2.2) I can no longer log into any of my sites without jumping through hoops to connect to the FTP server to rename the plugin’s folder to disable it. It has become annoying in the admin and locks me out of my own sites. Please bring back the old unintrusive/working Better WP Security.

  • Same problem here. It’s been going on for some time. In the past when I got locked out of my site I found that if I went to my .htaccess file and removed everything there that was inserted by the plugin then I got back in to my site.

But now the only way I can access a couple of my sites is by disabling the plugin by ftp.

    Interested in an answer.
