Brightpage nivo slider not displaying images

I have been working with the Brightpage theme for a community website I am creating, and am really in love with it. I am trying to get the content slider to work and am hitting a wall.

I have done all the steps necessary–created a featured category, added images through the Featured Image link at the bottom right of the screen, my front page is recent posts and not a custom home page, s’all good. The home page clearly has a slider area now active, but no images show up. You can see it here:

So far no one has outlined a solution to this problem. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!
