Breaks Amazon SES Functionality

Hello. Thank you for making this plugin. FYI, this plugin is not compatible with Amazon SES (the popular SMTP email service provider). Your plugin creates the exact same problem that you can read on this thread:

If you follow the observations and logic on that thread, you should be able to track down the cause of the problem with your plugin and fix it. Amazon SES is an important plugin because it provides critical and reliable email sending functionality for millions of people. So many people won’t be able to use your plugin until this bug is fixed. Thank you!
