Breaking attachment pages

Attachment pages do not load over https:// when forcing SSL for the entire site using / in the secure filters section. There seems to be a redirect issue.
We’ve tried to resave permalinks however this does not help.
If we remove the secure filter which stops forcing ssl, the attachment page will load even when using https://
