Break in slider text

Hi,

I’d like to know how I can select the text from the page, that is showing in the slider text. Even potentially add custom text?

Right now, it’s picking up the first lines of the text but I’d like it to only pick up the first sentence. I tries inserting a “read more” but it doesn’t seem to work.
