    Shouldn’t the Breadcrumbs be displaying the descriptions of the menu item?
    Like this? This way we have better control of what’s shown in-site links. It seems to be missing

    Example Use Only:

    <script type=application/ld+json>{
    “@context”:”https://schema.org&#8221;,
    “@type”:”ItemList”,
    “itemListElement”:[
    {
    “@type”: “SiteNavigationElement”,
    “position”: 1,
    “name”: “Who We Are”,
    “description”: “Learn about us and our marketing mission.”,
    “url”:”https://some!domain.com/about/&#8221;
    },
    {
    “@type”: “SiteNavigationElement”,
    “position”: 2,
    “name”: “Services”,
    “description”: “Web design, digital marketing, branding, & business consulting.”,
    “url”:”https://https://some!domain.com/services/&#8221;
    },
    {
    “@type”: “SiteNavigationElement”,
    “position”: 3,
    “name”: “Our Work”,
    “description”: “See our high caliber work for national & local brands”,
    “url”:”https://https://some!domain.com/our-work/&#8221;
    },
    {
    “@type”: “SiteNavigationElement”,
    “position”: 4,
    “name”: “Contact Us”,
    “description”: “Its time to crush Your Competition! Talk to a strategiest today.”,
    “url”:”https://https://some!domain.com/contact-us/&#8221;
    }
    ]
    }</script>

    Google has specific guidelines here (and examples of valid code). These guidelines do not include a description markup.

    If you have information on adding description markup and would like to discuss it with our development team, please submit an issue report to our GitHub repository for Yoast SEO. You will need an account to create a new issue.

    Please provide as much information about the issue and don’t forget to include the URL to this conversation in the issue report!

    @amboutwe I subscribed earlier to another topic for follow up and since you resolved the issue and the topic is closed I unsubscribed from the forum yet I’m receiving an email for every update here.. How to unsubscribe completely?
    PS there’s no unsubscribe link in the emails and on the plugin page it shows an option to subscribe meaning I’m not subscribed.
    Thank you

    Actually, Google is using it and its showing on many sites that are using the description field using other SEO plugins. I really don’t care to only SEO for Google I SEO for other search engines as well. I posted the code above to add descriptions to your markup here at the top of this thread

    @livingeasylivecom

    We’d be happy to consider adding description to the breadcrumb field! However, can you provide an example of Google using description as part of the breadcrumb field? In addition, can you provide an example of a search engine that is currently using it? We ask as we looked at Bing and Yandex documentation and are not seeing it listed.

    That way we can have all the information needed to pass it along to our developers for consideration in a future version of Yoast!
