I have updated the Yoast SEO plugin to the latest version. I recently activated breadcrumbs for my website only for single posts. The breadcrumbs are displaying only parent categories and not child categories.

This is what I am aiming for: Home>Parent category> Child category> Post Name
What can I do to make it display child categories as well?

    Awaiting your reply. Thanks.

  • Hi,

We would like some more information.

    A. Are all your non-Yoast plugins and themes also updated?

    B. Can you confirm your site has the Yoast SEO Breadcrumbs implemented? This guide explains more: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/implement-wordpress-seo-breadcrumbs/

    C. If you go to the post in question, can you confirm the child category has been selected as primary? See image: https://pasteboard.co/HVvpN4G.png

If so, the child category should be outputted along with the parent.

    D. Does clearing your caching from your theme, plugin, server, CDN like CloudFlare or browser resolve the issue? If you are not sure how to clear caching from theme/plugin please speak to those authors. If you want to clear cache from the server, please speak to your host provider. To clear the cache from a browser use this guide: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-clear-my-browsers-cache/.

Hi. All the plugins and theme used on my website are updated and I did implement the breadcrumbs as mentioned on the Yoast website.

However, I had not selected the child category as primary. After having selected it as primary both child and parent categories are being displayed.

    Thank you very much.
