Breadcrumbs

I have wordpress installation with breadcrumbs that are not working the way they should. For example, I just have home and the current page in the breadcrumb list. If I go to the custom post type page and select a post from that particular post type I just get post title without custom post name. The same goes with categories.

The same issue happens when I use custom function or when Yoast Breadrumbs function is used so it must be something in WP I am missing. Permalinks are set up as %postname%.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
