    Hi.
I have one Google Web Story that has this bread crumb issue – all other stories are good. I can’t work out the issue with this.

The only difference I have made with this story compared to others is including some affiliate links – all marked with correct rel nofollow sponsored etc.

I have looked at other threads in this forum relating to breadcrumbs but can’t find a fix for this.

    Thanks

    Hi there

Indeed strange that this is only seems to be happening for one story and not others.

It is worth noting that all breadcrumbs are entirely handled by Yoast SEO— we do not add these ourselves.

The detailed error for the above story is Either "name" or "item.name" should be specified

You can find Yoast SEO’s explanation for this issue here: https://yoast.com/help/google-search-console-breadcrumb-schema-report/#error-list

Here’s how they recommend fixing it in the Yoast SEO meta box: https://yoast.com/help/the-breadcrumbs-title-setting/

To access that meta box in the story editor, click on the “M” in the bottom right of the editor:

Yoast SEO in Web Stories editor

Then you can access the breadcrumb setting as explained on their documentation.

    Hope that helps!

If you have more questions regarding breadcrumbs, I recommend reaching out directly to Yoast SEO.

Thanks for your promt reply @swissspidy

I have read the documentation and gone to the 3rd party meta box but Yoast does not provide the Breadcrumb option in the advanced tab in stories as per their example. I don’t even see it in my normal WordPress meta box for posts.

Hmm then the only other solution I could think of, which the Yoast SEO team has previously recommended, is to follow these steps:

    1. Install and activate Yoast Test Helper plugin
    2. Go to Tools → Yoast Test → Yoast SEO → Reset indexables tables & migrations options to reset it
    3. Run SEO data optimization from the SEO → Tools page

That might help Yoast SEO fixing its information.

If that doesn’t help I’m afraid you’d need to ask in their forums.

As we haven’t received a response, I’ll mark this as resolved. Feel free to open a new support topic if you continue to encounter issues, or reopen this topic and we’d be happy to assist. Thank you!
