Brand New Need Help

  • I am trying to build a very basic website (which I have no experience doing at all) and would love for a little bit of help just getting started. I’ve looked over tutorials and other parts of the forums but I am still just so lost. If someone could help me somehow to get it all going I would really appreciate it. Thanks!!

    I don’t think wordpress in the self-hosted mode will be right for you. Check out wordpress.com – they can have you up and running quickly.

    1)I would like helping maybe having an mp3 playing on the page when you open up my webpage.
    2)I would like figuring out how to make a header for my page.
    3)I would like to try and make a calendar for upcoming events that I can post on my page.
    4)I would like to try and get my contact information for facebook, e-mail, etc.

    So I should look into using wordpress.com rather than www.remarpro.com?

    i need help with putting pictures in my blog. The link looks correct in the html but when I preview the blog all i get is the placeholders

    @kmessinger Too late, I’ve already put a few dents in my head and desk. How does it work if my domain host has me using www.remarpro.com? Does this mean I need to start over from scratch?

    Joe do you have a domain yourself and hosting?

    You will not necessarily need the current host. And yes, you will start over but if you have post’s in the db, they can be moved.

    [Edit] Go to wordpress.com and check it out. That will answer a lot of your questions.
