Brand Attribute for Google Merchant Center

I am using GoDataFeed to pull my feed from Woocommerce to upload a feed to Google Merchant Center and I am getting a “missing brand attribute” error from Google. So I added a “brand” attribute to all my products, but I hid them from product pages. I still get this error. There’s gotta be people out there who were able to successfully upload a feed to Google right? Any ideas or suggestions? I’ve read through a ton of threads but they all seem to be using some plugins that aren’t compatible with the latest WordPress install. Thanks.
