    Hi Bulky Support

We were previously using 1.1.7 and recently updated to 1.2.6. However we found we could no longer search by a product attribute (brand) and out of stock to see product variants that were out of stock.

This was working with the earlier version. Can you please add back this ability?

    Thanks
    Bruce

    Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We can be sure that there haven’t been changes from version 1.1.7 to 1.2.6 removing such functions in the plugin.

    1. Filtering by global attributes is available, see this: https://ibb.co/p1t5N51 , please ensure that:

+ Your brand attribute is global, if it is a custom attribute, it will not be supported to search

+ If no product has the brand attribute => the brand will be excluded from the filter search list.

    2. Search by Out of stock is available, kindly check again in the plugin > Filter, see this: https://ibb.co/yY3pZZK

    Best regards.

The issue is not filtering by these things separately, but filtering them together.

Digging further, it appears to be because filtering by “Brand” for a variant product only shows the parent product, and not the variations under that product. Brand is an attribute that is held at the product level. It’s been defined as a normal product attribute (not a custom attribute).

As we manage stock numbers at the variant level, we can’t see out of stock at the variant level when we filter by brand. If we don’t filter by brand, then we do see them.

We were able to do this with the older version of the plugin, as we used it to help our orders from particular brands (filter for stock we need to order for the given brand).

Do you have a way I can get hold of the old zip to install the older version? It doesn’t appear available via your SVN.

    Hi,

We checked this issue again on our end, to combine these filters, you should take this note, see this: https://ibb.co/FBqfZkX

+ Enable “Manage stock” for both the parent products and variations.

    + Enable “Filter include variation

    Best regards.

We do not manage stock at the product parent, so enabling that option is unnecessary. Stock quantities are managed at the variation level only, which is allowed by Woocommerce.

As mentioned, this was working with the older version of your plugin.

Do you have somewhere I am able to access the older version to install (1.1.7) as it doesn’t appear on the plugin’s SVN.

    Hi,

We fixed to meet your request in this new version, you needn’t enable “Manage stock” for the parent products. Let’s check again and contact us if you need further assistance.

    Best regards.
