Ok so I seem to be having 2 issues with my website.

Let’s discuss the AVS one first. So if a customer inputs the wrong billing address I would assume it would output the following code:
‘The provided address does not match the billing address for cardholder. Please verify the address and try again.’, ‘paypal-for-woocommerce’

However it seems to be outputting:
Error: PayPal Powered by Braintree was unable to complete the transaction. Please try again later or use another means of payment. Reason: Gateway Rejected: avs

It seems to do the 2nd option for all errors such as a incorrect expiration outputs:
Error: PayPal Powered by Braintree was unable to complete the transaction. Please try again later or use another means of payment. Reason: Gateway Rejected: cvv (why is it outputting CVV instead of expiration).

The next issue is when using Kount Custom. I have the ID set up and talked to Braintree and they are saying that everything is working on their end, however Device Data Captured is coming is as a false. Their reason was saying that the plug-in is not sending that data to them to verify which can result in false positives.

Any help is appreciated as many customers do not understand what AVS means.

Just tested, drop-in UI does not change it. Still the same error code.

Thanks for the details. We haven’t had any other reports of these things, but we’ll take a look and see if we can reproduce the problems so we can get them fixed in a 1.4.7.3 update here soon.

For the CVV error, that would be coming back directly from Braintree, so are you sure that isn’t actually an accurate error? You’re saying you are entering an accurate security code, but purposefully entering an inaccurate expiration date, and it’s giving you an error about CVV?

    Hello,

Sorry for the delay. The CVV error is just an example. It seems that if there is any issue with processing the customers’s card it will output that response of:

PayPal Powered by Braintree was unable to complete the transaction. Please try again later or use another means of payment. Reason: Gateway Rejected:____

I see in the code that their are other options that it should be outputting the response that is specific for the declined reason.

Okay, thanks again for the info. We’ll take a closer look to see if we need to make an adjustment here with the error handling.

@spineticspinners, can you please create a ticket here so we can work more directly on this?

@spineticspinners, Can you verify that you’re working with the Braintree Drop In UI? We’ve made some adjustments that should resolve this issue, and the fix will be included in the 1.4.7.3 update coming soon. Please give that a try when you see it and let me know if you still have problems.

Again sorry for the delay I don’t think this account has the updated email. Is it required to use the drop in UI for those errors to show correctly? Also do you still want me to open a ticket?

@spineticspinners, Did you update to the latest release of our plugin, and are you still having the same problem?

From the info we’ve seen in the docs the features you’re trying to use are only available with Braintree Drop In UI.
