I have run in to a problem trying to have Zotpress show page number. This is the code I use in-text.

    [zotpressInText item=”{576AET6X,401}” format=”%num%” brackets=”yes”]

Page 401 is not shown. I want it to look like this: [1, p. 401] but it only shows [1].

This is the code I use for the references:

    [zotpressInTextBib style=”vancouver” sortby=”default” sort=”ASC”]

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    What happens with e.g., [zotpressInText item=”{576AET6X,401}” format=”%num%, p. %p%” brackets=”yes”]

Thanks, but I’m sorry, it doesn’t cure. No p. and no page number shown. I still only see the 1 shown.

    I tried with this code

    [zotpressInText item=”{576AET6X,401}” format=”%num%”, p. “%p%” brackets=”yes”]

    It results in this

    [(Smetacek, 2010, 401)]

Of course everything else is wrong, but now the page number is shown.

I just realized this is probably the same issue as reported here. So it’s not an issue of the brackets but of numeric in-text formats. I’m afraid this is not a quick fix. What citation style are you emulating?

    Aha. It’s Vancouver.

Do you have a link to the official style guide for Vancouver in-text?

I can now not easily find the official style guide. This part is from Karlolinska Institute on Vancouver:

    Quotations

If you use quotations in your text, you should give information about page number(s). Include the page number(s) after the reference in the same parentheses . Use the abbreviation p./pp. for page number(s).
Example: “Evidence based medicine is the conscientious, explicit, and judicious use of current best evidence in making decisions about the care of individual patients. (1, p. 71)

Not sure when I can implement this, but this should be a good guide to follow. So, if there’s a quote with a page number needed, there will only be one, otherwise the current numeric styles work.

I think i’ve run into the same problem, where i want to have an in-text citation with citation number and page number. I’m trying to do it with the “Nature” citation style that came with Zotero. It’s a great plug-in and thanks for your work on it. I’ll stay tuned to see if you have any luck with this.

This should be working in the next version.
