BP profile field visibility settings not being applied when registering through

When using the membership plugin defined registration page and creating a new profile the profile fields that were added in the basic info group of profile fields are not enforcing the default visibility that was defined when they were setup. They are showing to all users fields that were defined as Admin only visibility.

When I register a new user and use the registration page defined in the buddy press settings the profile visibility settings apply correctly and the admin only visible fields do not show to all.

I would like to only sign up new users through the registration page defined in the membership plugin but having all of the admin only profile fields visible to everyone is not good.

I am using buddypress 1.9.2
