BP 1.7 Compatible?!?!

I really need to know if the issues with 1.7 as outlined in this other support thread:

… are going to be addressed soon. I know the authors claimed to have gone underground to release the new version in a “few months” but that was several “few months” ago.Has this been abandoned??
