Is there a way I can check why a known good email is bouncing via the MailPoet Sending Service? I manually added a friend’s email address that I know is correct to our newsletter – but it is continually bouncing. I tried deleting his address and re-adding it but it still bounces.

Is the bounce list maintained at MailPoet? If so, is there a process to get a known good address removed from it? I’m thinking there might have had a blip at some point but it is definitely a good address since I personally send emails to him all the time without a problem.

  • I think Mailpoet keeps the list of bounced addresses. After trying to delete and re-add several times valid addresses that were marked as bounced, the only fix I’ve found has been to create an email address and redirect it to bounced addresses. I’ve added this new address to Mailpoet, and tomorrow I’ll see if it has worked.

    Hi there @palmerct and @jfernandorey ,

    Thanks for reaching out!

We add an email address to the known bounce list when we try to send an email to this address several times but receive a bounce message from the recipient’s email server. It can happen when your domain or email server had a temporary downtime at some point in the past.

Please contact us via https://www.mailpoet.com/support/sales-pre-sales-questions/ and include a link to this thread and the email address in question.

We’ll be able to remove it from the known bounce list of it’s a valid email address.

    Cheers!

    Thanks for your help.

    I’ve already written.
