• So I’ve got to say I’m quite confused on why you’ve removed the bounce rate from the Dashboard Widget for what is really a pointless stat to always have as a highlighted stat. Bounce rate is far more important to end users than total users and this one change has me ready to drop ExactMetrics from all of my sites, my customers sites and my WP Ultimo Multisite networks.

Nor do I really see this change published anywhere. HIGHLY HIGHLY disappointed.

So upon further research it appears you’ve moved this into an addon plugin. You removed what was a basic free feature that people have gotten use to for years to extort your free users. This is in my opinion a slime ball move and I will now spend the day removing ExactMetrics from any WordPress installation I manage. Including the 2 Pro sites we do pay for.

Wow. Scumbag move. I’m never using them again unless this is reverted. What a BASIC metric.

    Hi there,
I think there’s some confusion here, but bounce rate has not been removed from free.

It sounds like you authenticated using a Google Analytics version 4 property, as opposed to a version 3 property.

Google Analytics version 4 properties (with a G- identifer as opposed to a UA- one) do not support bounce rate, as Google Analytics doesn’t support bounce rate in version 4.

ExactMetrics supports both v3 and v4 properties, so if you make a GAv3 property and authenticate with it, it will work. We also support the ability to use both a GAv3 and a GAv4 property at the same time, which you can learn more about (as well as the differences between GAv3 and GAv4 properties) here:

Nope, spent time to switch everything over, your statement is wrong. Bounce rate does not show on the dashboard widget regardless of configuration, if you’d like to point me to an exact tutorial that show otherwise I’d gladly accept that and take back my statements but no matter my configuration nothing restores normal functionality.

One quick point of clarification (since someone else just asked our support team this), when using our dual tracking mode, the GA property that’s authenticated is the property the reports are based on, so if you are tracking into both types via our dual tracking mode you will want to authenticate/re-authenticate to the GAv3 property as the authenticated property type, and then enter in the GAv4 identifier (G-) into the settings panel below after authenticating if you want to use the GAv3 reports that have bounce rate on them.

@chriscct7 I’ll give this, new bit of info, yet another go before I just delete it and don’t return to this product.

    Not a problem!

I’ll ask our marketing team to update the blog post to make that more clear.

I game them access to my site 5 days ago to troubleshoot and nothing so far. Now they aren’t even answering emails anymore. I guess they don’t really care about the free users.

    Hi there,
The ExactMetrics team is very small, and we’re providing 1:1 support to over a million users, it can take some time, but I promise we do the best to get to everyone as soon as possible
