    Hi Wordfence Support,

A couple of days ago I noticed unusually high traffic to my homepage –> hurrythefoodup.com/

As the traffic persisted I looked more deeply into this and noticed the following:

    – the traffic to the homepage “/” spiked since November 26th rising from roughly 200 pageviews/day to 3000 pageviews/day
    – all traffic seems to be coming from the US
    – all traffic goes to desktop
    – source of the traffic is “direct”

It looks like it’s bot traffic checking my analytics.

I went to purchase your premium plugin hoping to solve the issue. So far I

    – scanned the website using Wordfence once
    – set the Rate Limiting Rules

Now a couple of hours later the situation hasn’t improved, there is still loads of traffic going to the homepage.

Now I’m wondering what else to do?
    Thanks for your support!

  • Hi HaukeFox
I have a client site which is also being attacked by Bad Bots and am finding it impossible to kill this unwanted traffic which is using huge bandwidth.
Here is an excerpt from AWStats for just 5 days this month:
Unknown robot (identified by ‘bot’ followed by a space or one of the following characters _+:,.;/\-) 1,247+76 45.70 MB 04 Dec 2017 – 11:26
    Harvest 826+2 3.47 MB 04 Dec 2017 – 11:56

    Stats for Nove:
Unknown robot (identified by ‘bot’ followed by a space or one of the following characters _+:,.;/\-) 9,986+575 402.91 MB 30 Nov 2017 – 23:58
    Harvest 3,023+19 108.73 MB 30 Nov 2017 – 20:46

If anyone can help it would be great.
I’m using Wordfence with blocking and also the BadBot Plugin, but neither seem to be having any effect.
