    Hello,

in followed your instruction for the borlabs cookie tool.

Now I have two woopt cookies activated in borlabs under “Essential”:

    wooptpm-cookie
    wpm-cookie

Do I need both or is one of them outdated?

    kind regards
    Christopher

    Hi Christopher

Keep this for now. wooptpm-cookie will be soon renamed into wpm-cookie. I can’t give an exact date yet.

Thank you for the fast reply.

I recognized another, much more important thing:

When I enter my website, your plugin directly sets the three cookies:

    _ga
    _gcl_au
    wooptpmReferrer

even though nothing on the borlabs popup had been clicked (not even the essential buttons).

When I deactivate your plugin, no cookie is set.

Do you have an idea? I already marked in Borlabs that cookies without consent should be blocked, but it didn’t help.

    regards
    Christopher

In the pro version of the plugin you can set to use explicit consent. That will prevent the cookies to be set immediately and wait for user consent.

Could you send me the debug information from the support page to [email protected] ?

no i managed it to work, thank you.

    _ga
    _gcl_au

are only loaded after explicit consent. Thats good.

The cookie wooptpmReferrer is still there, does it conform to GDPR?

That is a good question! It is an essential cookie so I would say yes, since you can’t really say no for using it.

I will discuss this with someone who knows more about that particular case and will inform you in case I need to change that in the plugin (or not).

Thank you, I will come back to this in 2 weeks to see if you’ve found out something about this ??

Since I am paying now 19 Dollars/month for the plugin I want to be sure to be really GDPR conform ??

    kind regards

I just found the following information on https://gdpr.eu/cookies/ which seems to be an official source.

Strictly necessary cookies — These cookies are essential for you to browse the website and use its features, such as accessing secure areas of the site. Cookies that allow web shops to hold your items in your cart while you are shopping online are an example of strictly necessary cookies. These cookies will generally be first-party session cookies. While it is not required to obtain consent for these cookies, what they do and why they are necessary should be explained to the user.

wooptpmReferrer is a first-party session cookie and required for the proper working of the plugin. None of the data is shared with the server or anyone else before any additional consent is given. Once statistics consent is given the data may be used for tracking purposes and only for the trackers that consent has been given to.

Based on this I would conclude that it is ok to set the cookie.

    Is that ok for you?
