• From the codex:

    Bookmarklets
Add the “Press It!” bookmarklet provided by WordPress to your browser and you have a shortcut to create an article with a link to the page currently displayed on your browser!

    Sidebar
If you don’t like a bookmarklet, use our friendly broswer sidebar, which can be used in a similar fashion.

As far as I can determine, this is the only mention of a “sidebar” alternative to bookmarklets in the codex. Can someone shed some light on this feature? How do you invoke the sidebar?

  • I realize this post is old and that no one responded but I am curious about this as well.

I clicked the WordPress Sidebar! button at the bottom of the Users page in the Admin panel. It added it to my bookmarks. When I click it in my bookmarks, it puts an empty browser frame on the right side of my browser.

Why is it empty and what is it for?
