• The bookmarklet in WP 1.2 uses Javascript to test the browser, and if it ain’t Safari it ain’t gonna work. I prefer to use OmniWeb 5.0. Is there a specific reason why Bookmarklets will work ONLY with Safari?

  • Works fine in Mozilla derivatives, it’s not a safari thing.
I haven’t played with OmniWeb in a long time, not sure how it handles bookmarklets.

The code queries the useragent to see if it’s Safari. I don’t know enough about Java to know what it’s doing, but it is a definite test.

I haven’t read through the code, but it does work in other browsers.
The WP developers did not write the bookmarklet only for Safari.
I just downloaded the latest OmniWeb beta, looks like your out of luck for now. Unless of course you use another browser. Safari, Camino, Firefox, Mozilla, or Netscape (probably works).

Doesn’t work for me in Firefox/mac
