Is there any way not to include book reviews in blog regular (post) archive pages?

I have blog posts, and book reviews (not regular posts) in my blog. How can I separate them in the archive pages? Any idea / proposition is welcome.

    Thank you in advance,

    P

    Hello,

You can disable the “Reviews on homepage” option in the plugins settings. Then reviews will be only available on the reviews archive page.

Thank you for your prompt response.

Unfortunately, this is the setup I already have, it does not seem to work. It does not seem to be a theme issue either, since I have tried a couple of different themes, with no result.

Could it be a bug, or something that could be fixed via coding?

Can you provide a more detailed explanation of what you are attempting, with some examples?

If you go to https://www.kalantzis.me/blog/ then you see the blog page, where no reviews are included, as per the setting discussed.

On the other hand, if you go to an archive page, eg. https://www.kalantzis.me/blog/2020/04/page/3/ you see that blog posts and book reviews are mixed. I need / want this page to be purely posts (ie. no book review in archive)

I hope this makes it clear.

    Hello,

I just spent about 2 hours trying to recreate your URL structure on my test site and I was not about to do it. As things are right now I am not sure how to proceed with assisting you as I have never seen a “subdirectory-ed paged date archive” page.

    Hello again,

I continued my own tests, and it seems that:

    – the issue is not relating to the url structure, since it persists with every permaling option available
    – it does not seem to be related to certain theme, since it persists regardless of theme (tested with standard wp themes)
    – it does not seem to relate with other plugins, since it persists in vanilla installation

Having said that, I am open to discuss any further tests or other ideas to overcome this issue.

Are comfortable with editing PHP files?

If so, comment out the $this->rcno_add_review_to_query( $query ); method on line 188 in wp-content/plugins/recencio-book-reviews/public/class-rcno-reviews-public.php and tell me if the issue remains.
