First of all, thank you for making this plugin/s. You have no idea how this has been a game changer for me personally.

Anyway, here are some of the things that I want to raise:

    (1) Is there any way that we could fetch book review archive like from the old plugin? I also loved how you can automatically add reviews in the archive on the old plugin by just ticking a check box.

    (2) I wish you can make it so the type of field on the actual post shows (Title, Series, Author, Genre) and not just what we input. For example:

    Title: Harry Potter
    Author: JK Rowling

Instead of just Harry Potter, then JK Rowling on the next line.

    (3) I hope there’s an option where we can align the text in the block.

    (4) And lastly, is there any way this plugin can also create rich snippet of reviews on Google search results? The old plugin really helped me and my reviews to show up on Google. I wonder if that’s also possible on this one?

    Thank you!

  • Hi,

    1. This is on the list, although I’m not sure when it will be added.
    2. There’s nothing stopping you from adding Title:, Author: etc. directly into the field yourself. Given this workaround, it’s not a high priority item at this time.
    3. It’s something I could possibly look into. To be clear, you would like all the meta fields like title and author etc., plus the rating and the description to all be controlled by a single alignment option?
    4. The block already supports rich snippets. If there’s a review that’s not working, please provide a link.

Thank you so much for responding!

    3. Just the description specifically. Like in the old one. If that’s possible. I use this section to also add the Goodreads button before so centering the button would be nice but I have found a way to work around this for now.

    4. Yeah, for some reasons, all the book reviews that I updated from the old plugin to the new one won’t show the star ratings on Google or even on my homepage/blog page. On the old plugin, I have the star ratings on Google and at the start of the excerpts of my review posts, as well as on my homepage. Here are some example:

I use the old plugin and the star ratings stopped showing up (unluckily)

I just released version 1.3.1 which should fix the issue with structured data (#4 above). Note that you’ll need to wait for Google to crawl your site again before the search results will be updated, or you can ask Google to recrawl your URLs.

    Closing.
