Bolt WordPress on to existing site

Not sure what to search for but I did look before posting. Promise.

I’ve got a static HTML site. I want to use WordPress to add latest news to one of the pages on the site. I don’t want any sidebar items, just the loop within my content section.

So, when a visitor clicks on news.htm (which will presumably change to news.php) they’ll see my posts.

I’ve installed WordPress and got it running under a sub-directory /wordpress.

I now need some direction to get the page to work as a blog.
