As a consequence, Google Sitelinks searchbox doesn’t work on my site.

Yeah sorry, I created a duplicate as I wanted to change the word “tag” in the title to “<head> tag”, but apparently it’s not allowed to use tags in the title so it was removed both times!

Any ideas about the issue with the curly brackets? ANything I can do to resolve/bypass this issue?

No, on https://nicecycletours.com/rmtest/ I only have Bogo and RankMath. If I deactivate Bogo, the curly brackets appear, if I activate Bogo “{” is replaced by “%7B” and “}” by “%7D”.

I left Bogo activated on the site just now.

Ironically, the output you see when Bogo is activated is rather correct as a JSON format data:

Google don’t seem to mind the missing closing brackets, however they do spit out the %7B and %7D characters:
