• I’ve been using the Modula Gallery up until now, but I love how the Final Tiles displays the images similarly with minimum cropping, as well as it’s capacity for video. I’m interested in buying the Pro version, however I need to test that the concept works first.

So far the image thumbnails are displaying too sharp – like blurry, but the cause is over reduction in image size (rather than real blurry which would be filling in details with extra pixels when making something larger, thus loosing clarity. Downsizing forces more details into less pixels, making them sharper).

The link is here: https://thedreaming.is/speedpaintaday/. I have put the Final Tiles Gallery above the inherent WordPress gallery, and you can see the difference in thumbnail quality.

I suspect this is a deliberate scripting tactic as compressing the image size for thumbnails does greatly shorten loading time, but there needs to be a compromise and I think there should be an option somewhere to choose the thumbnail compression. I love how clear the Modula images are, but being cropped there would be no compression and still smaller images, though the loading time is significantly longer.

Is there a solution to this, or some sort of work-around? As an artist, quality is a pretty big deal for me, as I imagine it would be for other photo-gallery users. I do really like how WordPress displays it’s thumbnails, and they still seem to load quite quickly – definitely faster than Modula’s.

Another issue seems to be pink watermarks coming up between spaces and enter formatting between the gallery images? I’m not really sure, but they seem to be interacting with the space settings of the images as well, it’s really weird. This I know is a bug ??

I hope these can be sorted out, because the gallery looks exactly like what I’m looking for – I love the sequential loading, too. Mixed with Everlightbox and it’s a perfect match.

  • Is there a fix for this issue? My client is noticing the blurry thumbnails and wants me to find another gallery plugin. I would rather not because I love the way this one works. Is there a fix or documentation on settings to resolve this issue?

    Thank you, love the plugin.

@orbitd under some circumstances the plugin needs to scale up some images to avoid blank spaces. To avoid blurry images you have 2 options:

    1) you can use a larger size only for the blurry image

    or

    2) you can use a larger size for all images and then use a lower “Image size factor” value

    Hope it helps
