Thanks – I have png – a little better but still a bit rubbish at two different compression levels (if that makes a difference?!)

Also how do I go about getting a text editor in order to create a child theme please?

I am not that much familiar with GIMP. I use Adobe. See if you can download their trial version of Fireworks – excellent for web graphics – you won’t have any problems.

As for text editor – you don’t need anything special at all. Just use notepad free with all windows – or any available on Mac.
